SOUTH COAST - WASP ISLAND, NSW 16/6/12

Big Saturday, widening swell patterns and confused seas...

We experienced it all at Wasp Island with some great fish landed but unfortunately it was a little hit and miss. Arriving early we scouted the swell and it was up a little higher than expected, 2 metres and a strange current. Wind was slim so we made our way out through the channel carefully and prospected for Snapper. Some used Plastics, others used Octo jigs while I decided snatchers and bait would be the key. Somebody must of told the fish as do you think I could land some sort of lively?

BLAST FROM THE PAST - DEPOT BEACH, NSW 2008

During the weekdays my rise is a little early for my liking, I have become used to it and often awake just before my alarm becomes audible. This morning my alarm was set a little earlier and I hit stop instead of snooze. My body clock later ticked bang on time for a weekday, problem was I was due down at Batemans Bay at 7am sharp.

2012 DAIWA HOBIE KAYAK SERIES - MALLACOOTA, VIC

Photobucket

Round 12 of the Daiwa Kayak Series heads returns to some fabulous Victorian waters with Mallacoota hosting the round. Some tournament anglers rate this area the best Black Bream waters in the land (Bar none). Its an active waterway with thousands of holiday makers calling it home for many months of the year, nobody told the fish though. While the series will return to Mallacoota in October this is for many the last roll of the dice to qualify for the Grand Final. Will some unlucky angler have the Hoggiest Bream of the year on only to be swallowed by the Flathead of a lifetime? (Please note: This event is being organised by SSBS)
