On Sunday the 17th of April myself and a mate took part in the Pirtek Fishing Challenge to help raise awareness for prostate cancer. Over 6,500 anglers Australia wide took part in the competition with CPR (Catch, photo, release) the name of the game, subject to pest species conditions. The night before all anglers were informed of their angler numbers and their states fish species to be caught.
The new lightweight, more compact, Pro Angler 12 is the most versatile fishing boat we’ve ever designed. This 12 foot hull sports a 500 pound weight capacity and is packed full of “must have” features that kayak anglers demand. From lakes to rivers to open ocean, this boat has no boundaries – stand and fish with incredible stability, securely store four rods horizontally, two vertically and access your tackle with ease. http://www.hobiecat.com/kayaks/mirage/pro-angler-12/
Now here is something with a great cause... The Pirtek Fishing Challenge is on again and apparently entries this year have been better than ever. At only $20 to enter its probably the cheapest and definately most popular fishing tournament in Australia. Be it boat, kayak, bank if its caught on a line, and you have paid your entry fee (And abide by the rules) you could win big.
Its time to bite the bullet, do the one thing I have been procrastinating about for a long time. Yes you guessed it, Kayak Fishing Adventures has now gone fully social. We have a new facebook page and while it might take a while to catch up I can, and you will too, hopefully see all the the benefits. A few things have changed regarding linking blogs automatically to Facebook, but I may have found a work around (Using rss feeds, but this is beta mode testing ATM and not updating yet, time will tell).
Round 9 of the Daiwa Kayak Series heads to northern NSW and the Clarence River. Its a Bream fishing smorgosboard with weed banks, flats, bank lined edges and a plethora of other Bream bite goodies. Its home to some of the most popular ABT Breaming events but its no walk in the park. Those that know are sure to be well up the rankings come end game with new visitors to the area taking note. If ABT history is anything to go by short leaders will help keep fish sticking, along with some bank drifts and a trip to the deeper holes. Will it be victory for those that stick to a plan or those that stray from the path? (Please note: This event is being organised by GTS)
