2012 DAIWA HOBIE KAYAK SERIES - MARLO, VIC

Photobucket

Round 6 of the Daiwa Kayak Series trundles along the Snowy River and empties in Marlo, home of the Victorian Super. Some incredible fish have been pulled from its courses and bag limits are so huge one wonders how the hell they get these fish in their livewells. Victorian anglers will be in full force with this event scheduled to be the VIC State Title event along World Qualifying spots. A variety of techniques slam fish but will it be the upper reaches of some anabranch or the lake bowl runoffs that harbour the returns? (Please note: This event is being organised by ABT)

KAYAK FISHING TRIP PREP - RULES 101 AND BEYOND

Photobucket

Planning for your next Kayak Fishing Adventure should be a straight forward affair, pick a fishing location, pack your vehicle and then transport towards a great day on the water. For others though, particularly newcomers to the sport, it can be an overwhelming practice. With so many specific kayak fishing products available on the market, that are all designed to boost your actual angling experience, it’s hard to know what to take and when to take it. When you factor in your chosen location, along with any logistics planning required it can become even more puzzling (Meaning somewhere/sometime/somehow there is a risk you could be caught short).

HOBIE PRO ANGLER ACCESSORY - THE FOLDABLE 'H-BAR'

Photobucket

They have been out for a while now but many of us caught our first glimpse at the Hobie 'H Bar' on the display Pro Angler at the Daiwa Hobie Kayak Series event at St Georges Basin this past weekend. Initial reactions were mixed, especially as people were viewing the accesory as marketed directly to tournament anglers and viewing it from a closed perspective. It could be used in a competition scenario (And probably quite effectively) but its real stand out feature is the ease at which it simply folds up and declutters deck space and its wider appeal.

2012 DAIWA HOBIE KAYAK SERIES - ST GEORGES BASIN

Photobucket

Round 5 of the Daiwa Kayak Series returns to an infamous old stomping ground, the popular St Georges Basin. Home to some mighty fish, including the biggest Bream I have seen in my life (Talking 2.5kg here folks) its sure to draw a crowd. Options a plenty too, with blading, surface and other techniques thrown with great success. This is also a World Qualifying event with spots up for grabs to the big show in the US of A. Prefish reports indicate sneaky fish everywhere, but will they rise to the surfae or slug it down deep? (Please note: This event is being organised by SSBS)

2012 DAIWA HOBIE KAYAK SERIES - SWAN RIVER, WA

Photobucket

Round 4 of the Daiwa Kayak Series is to be held at the iconic Swan River in Western Australia. With qualifying spots for the Grand Final up for grabs, and a couple of months wait till the tournament returns, kayak anglers can compete for the right to represent their state. From all accounts the Swan fishes brilliantly and is full of raging Black Bream keen on taking lures. Will it be soft plastics that take the win or a cranking approach? (Please note: This event is being organised by WA Classics)
