GAMAKATSU HOBIE FISHING SERIES - GEORGES RIVER, NSW

Its funny how time flies, especially when you are having fun... There has been a bit of a dry spell when it comes to kayak fishing tournaments towards these parts, luckily the drought has broken (With some rain and wind to boot). This weekend sees the Georges River round of the Daiwa Hobie Gamakatsu Kayak Fishing Bream Series, held on the waters accompanying Woolooware bay. Having never fished this region I am excited, especially given the quality of FB reports on the Bream their recently. I am, however optimistic on my chances...

From what I can gather it's a system made up of some gnarly structure and big fish and bust offs are common. Weather has been a little shite lately but with moisture in the air the water should be a degrees or two warmer putting the Bream on the prowl. At this stage I am thinking of searching for bars and flats and slow rolling 40mm lures back along the bottom. Don't really have a clear standout lure for the event in mind but I have nothing to lose and a lot to gain from this round, so Intel will be scouted prior.
